It was Matthew Milliner’s most recent article for the magazine, Comment that has moved me to post ahead of schedule this particular entry, before posting my concluding segment on John’s Gospel. During Advent, Matthew has been presenting a series on Marian devotion at various — and, in some cases, unexpected — pilgrimage sites around the world.
