(Our next few posts will concentrate specifically on aspects of the Christian spiritual life. We will look at the four “types” – that is to say, the four “ideas” or images that exemplify the characteristics – of that tradition; the symbolic potency of the Trinity and the Incarnation within the Christian’s inner life; and, of course, we will need to address the place and purpose of the Bible, especially as it relates to prayer and meditation, and how it should be engaged critically in the 21st century.)
