I am immediately curious about your experience in Sweden… wondering where exactly you were and what one does in such an encounter.
The book on John’s gospel by Fr. John Behr that you recommended in another comment chat arrived yesterday so I am looking forward to some theological reading on top of eventual ghost stories.
The hotel was near the airport in Stockholm, but I do not recall the name. It was not a terribly old one, built I suppose anytime between the 1970s and 2000s. By "tactile," I mean that I was actually shoved from behind by whatever I couldn't see, and I reached out and touched what turned out to be the bald head of the one I could see. Both were speaking in low voices. I experienced no "paralysis" and rapidly got out of bed. When I did, they were gone. Perhaps it was lucid dreaming, but that explanation seems unlikely. I experienced no "paralysis" whatsoever, so that is ruled out. My lack of fear was, I think, due to the unexpectedness of the incident, as well as the result of having experienced strange occurrences before, a belief in the spiritual realm, and continual prayer practice. Which is not to say I wasn't alarmed retrospectively or that I'm naturally fearless. I'm not sure what to advise others about such an event, except to keep one’s wits.
Thank you. There’s so much I would like to ask but this is not the forum. I was in Bergen last summer. It took me 24 years to make it over there so who knows how long it’ll be before I make it back (moved to Stockholm in 2000). If you fly through here again with margins, I would be happy to try to meet you at the airport for coffee and a chat.

Thank you. I'll keep that in mind.
Thank you for your munificence, and have a blessed Christmas as well.
I'm a fan of M. R. James at Christmas, myself.
