I wish this warranted no saying, but I truly appreciate your willingness to see, point out, and promote the good of others, even while reserving any criticisms. This quality is truly rare. Not only has it enriched my intellectual life, but is an example of how I know I ought to be in the world too.
Luther once said something to the effect that the one who only stresses what one dislikes or finds disagreeable in others is like someone who looks only at others' backsides. I don't often cite Luther (and I don't know where I came across it), but that analogy has always struck me as a good one.
Your feelings on Fr Seraphim reflect my own. God's revelation to the Human Heart is lovely. Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future?.... well, let's just say I prefer to keep that book in a quiet overlooked corner of my shelf.
Christ the Eternal Tao was absolutely critical--essential in many ways--to my journey of faith, and, as usual, you beat me to the punch in writing about it.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. It's a very popular book among Northern California Orthodox (our parish bookstore carries it, in fact), and I've liked the portions of it that I've read. I admit its connection with Seraphim Rose (concerning whom I have many reservations) has made me somewhat circumspect, but now I'll happily give it more of my time.

The first portion is absolute gold, and I think the purchase of the book is worth it for that alone.
Purchased. As a Christian who loves the Dao De Jing, I couldn’t resist. Thank you for the recommendation!
Thank you! Book, video, and commentary.
Certainly a must read, glad to see you recommending it!

But I still hope you do write about it.
